My name is John Seger. My mother, Vera, was James Dean's 1st generation cousin.

Her aunt, was Jimmy's mom.

In May, 1999, I moved to Los Angeles, and discovered Sal Mineo, while watching "Rebel" and "Giant",and decided to approach my good friend, Karen Hardcastle to help me create a website honouring Sal Mineo.  And since Jimmy and Sal were such great friends, and me being a cousin of Jimmy's, I felt making a great page was essential. On December 19, 2001, Tom Korman, executor of Sal Mineo's estate, who is also his former agent, deemed us the "official" website of Sal Mineo".

It is particularly interesting, as it is a unique 2-way collaboration:
I live in Los Angeles, and do most of the movie reviews, TV schedule, freeze pictures off film for the website, and come up with many of the ideas for the website.

Karen is in Australia,

and is the "genius" who actually designs the entire page. EVERYTHING you view on the page, is designed by her. Without Karen, my thoughts, ideas, and images would not be seen online.

It is a unique venture, we live continents away from each other, and have never met, yet the end result has proven to be quite fruitful.

We make no money off this website, and don't intend to. Our goal, is to have the best website possible, to honour Sal Mineo, who though no longer with us on this earth, continues to touch the hearts of fans everywhere.

We also hope to "correct" the notion of Sal being one of Hollywood's most forgotten stars, and bring his name back to the mainstream, as he once was. Sal Mineo not only was an incredible actor, but a wonderful human being as well, and his life was taken suddenly without warning.

Being James Dean's cousin, I am driven to honour Sal, and I feel Jimmy and
Sal would really be proud of everything we are doing.
